Massaged Kale Salad

Massaged Kale Salad | Health Inspirations

I recently read an article that stated that kale was no longer a ‘trend’ food. Whilst I’m always up for trying new foods, I will always love kale, no matter what no matter what its current superfood status. I don’t think I have ever shared a recipe for massaged kale salad, which is a shocker, seeing as I eat this all the time. It’s a great ‘make ahead’ salad for work and can be mixed with lots of grains and vegetables. Today I’m sharing a basic version of a recipe that can be adapted in an endless number of ways. Skiing in Austria

February 27, 2016

Once a year my family gets together for a week of skiing in Saalbach, Austria. Saalbach is the largest ski resort in Austria with over 270km of slopes. We have been going to there for the past 12 years or so and have yet not had a chance to try every slope because there is so much to discover. This year we went for a week in mid-February. The weather wasn’t as good as it could have been with a few foggy and snowy days, but we also a couple of really nice sunny and warm days. We had a lovely time, filled with lots of skiing, yummy food, visits to the gym and spa. Below are a few of my favorite pictures from the trip. Hope you enjoy! Continue Reading…

Almond Coconut Millionaire Bites

I cannot even begin to count the amount of times that I have walked into the grocery store with the best intention of picking up the essential groceries, and walked with the groceries and a tub of millionaire bites. There’s just something about this treat that screams my name every time. Continue Reading…

A Pancake Recipe for Everyone

February 7, 2016

Shrove Tuesday aka Pancake Tuesday is just around the corner. Funnily enough, this was never a day I looked forward to. In Austria it is typically celebrated by dressing up (think kids carnival dress up) and I just never liked it. Then I moved to England and found out that on Shrove Tuesday, it is perfectly acceptable to eat pancakes for dinner…I was immediately up for it!

Athleisure brands to try now

January 30, 2016

After graduating from University and starting full-time employment I quickly realized that the two main components of my wardrobe consisted of office work wear and workout gear. I no longer have real use for those comfy jeans and slouchy tshirts that I used to wear all the time when hanging around the house. Now, during the week I wear my office outfits and I spend most of my weekends in gym wear. Continue Reading…

Banana (n)ice cream | Health Inspirations

For many people, eating breakfast can be a real chore. Just the thought of having to “waste” 10 minutes in the morning is a dreadful thought…10 minutes that could be better spent in bed. I have never had such a problem. Quite on the contrary, my morning cup of coffee and breakfast is what makes thought of getting up in the morning a little bit more appealing. Continue Reading…

The fact that it’s Friday is reason enough to celebrate! Another long week at work has come to an end and two glorious days of R&R (and doing laundry and cleaning the flat, of course!) are ahead of us. Friday also makes the perfect day to reflect back on the week and share a few of my favourite things (reads, products, stories, blogs, blog posts, recipes, etc, etc, etc.) from this past week. So here we go…. Continue Reading…

Root vegetable chips

Root vegetable chips | Health Inspirations

Last week at work I was given a crate full of fresh fruit and vegetables so I challenged myself to create a new recipe. The veggies that I got weren’t anything I wouldn’t usually buy, so for exactly that reason I forced myself to think slightly outside the box and create something I had never before made. I am a sucker for anything that comes in a pretty box. Whether it’s a beautiful parcel from Net a Porter, or my weekly supply of snacks from Graze, I love them all! For Christmas this year I was gifted a membership to Love Me Beauty, a online boutique that recommends beauty products for your personality and needs. I was immediately intrigued… Continue Reading…

Happy New Year. I hope you have all had a wonderful festive season and wild New Year’s celebration. I spent two weeks at home in Austria (as you may have seen from my instagram) and loved every minute of it. I’ve been back in England for a week so thought I’d get back into the swing of things and finally post another recipe. Continue Reading…
