Today I turn 24. It’s a bit of shocker that I’m nearly quarter of a century old and yet I feel like I’m a teen. Where has time gone?

Birthday Collage

{Don’t we look like a set of different people.…?!}

The only thing that’s really a daily reminder of my aging is the increasing amount of grey hair I’m beginning to find on my head. I thought that started in the late-40s?! Apparently, I was wrong!

Yesterday, I already had a chance to pre-celebrate with Christina, Alex and Fraser and they surprised me with a visit by my very good friend Camille. Although I’ll be spending the majority of the day working on uni-related stuff, it was so nice to celebrate with some of the most special people in my life {more on that, later this week!}

In honor of my birthday I wanted to do a post that was different from what I usually write. Therefore I’ve compiled a list of 24 things you might not have known about me.

    1. On an average day I drink 4-5 liters of water. No joke! I’m a very thirsty creature.
    2. I have a pillow without which sleeping it  is almost impossible.
    3. I’m lactose-intolerant but sometimes I still eat chocolate like it’s going out of style.
    4. I grew up in Indonesia and spent my holidays vacationing in Bali. Yes, it was the worst childhood Winking smile
    5. I have a huge bucket list of places I want to travel to:  Italy {never been, yet it’s only live a stone’s throw away from home}, the whole of California, Portland, Seattle, the whole of Canada, Australia {last time I went I was 9}, Indonesia {to see our old house and see what’s changed over the years}, Greece, Barcelona and Madrid…
    6. I used to be a gymnast. Now even simple stretches are painful #gettingold
    7. My favorite drink is Austrian tap water….although I’m also quite fond of coffee.
    8. I’m the worst packer and never quite fit everything I need into  single suitcase. No thanks to baggage weight restrictions.
    9. I have a slight shoe addiction.
    10. Growing up I used to have an Australian accent {thanks to my best friend who was from Australia}. Now I apparently sound like a Canadian.
    11. If I had the time I’d love to become a spin instructor and teach classes in my free-time.
    12. I’m obsessed with Nike and hardly ever make it out of Nike Town at Oxford Circus without at least one purchase.
    13. My favorite time of year is late Spring/early Summer, unless it’s a snowy December day, then I kind of love winter.
    14. I write lists. Everyday. For everything. I’m super organized, probably because of all the lists.
    15. I love cheese. My favorites are English cheddar, parmesan, and tête de moine. Although I’ll eat just about any kind.
    16. I have three closets full of clothes {1 in the UK, 2 in Austria} and still argue that I don’t have anything to wear. No really, it’s a daily struggle to get dressed!
    17. I hate packing, but despise unpacking even more. That’s why I don’t mind living out of a suitcase.
    18. I wish I was as neat and tidy as my sister.
    19. I collect things. Postcards. Old jewelry. Old magazines clippings and interesting newspaper articles.
    20. I still feel like I’m a 17 year old teen and need to be reminded  that I’m actually a legitimate grown-up.
    21. But that’s probably because people constantly tell me that I look a lot younger than I really am.
    22. I can’t wait to finally move in to my first real home and decorate everything just the way I want it. I’ve only been pinning for 3 years….
    23. My perfect day would include a long, lazy breakfast in bed, a fun hike or run in the sunshine,  a bit of {window} shopping, afternoon tea with friends, possibly a mani/pedi, followed by dinner at a nice restaurant. And at night, after having a relaxing bath,  I’d watch a movie on the couch.
    24. I’m so grateful to have the best hobby and that I have people who will sit down and read what I ramble about when my family is sick and tired of listening to me. You guys are amazing!

And now I’m off to eat some cake.

Enjoy your Sunday!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

    Happy Belated Birthday, Antonia! I’m just catching up on some blog reading (due to a particularly crazy thesis stretch) so I’m late with the well wishes. Our birthdays are exactly a week a part! I turned 35 though, so I’m way ahead of you, girl! And those grey hairs started popping up for me at 22, totally normal. I hope you enjoyed your day and the year to come. It only gets better from here!

      Thanks so much Katie! That’s exactly what I needed to hear 😉 And happy belated birthday to you too. I have been a particular good blog reader either, due to uni stress (which I know is not in the least comparable to thesis stress). Hope you’ve had a great day celebrating!
