November Favorites {}

November is  a month I don’t always look forward to. Bear in mind that I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. If I did, things would be very different. Sure, there’s always a couple of important dates marked in the calendar, but it’s basically 30 days where I wish it was already December. This year however, November was great. Actually, better than great and it was filled with lots of great news! In hindsight I’m kinda glad we didn’t skip this month, after all!

For my favorites I chose to stick to 4 items. I could have come up with a lot more but for the sake of keeping this post to a readable length I chose my absolute favorites, categorized into beauty and food.

Philosophy  Christmas Cookie Shower Gel

I found this shower gel at a recent trip to Boots. Boots is always dangerous territory, but right now it’s really best if I stay far away. There are some great things on offer for Christmas and I really can’t say no to anything that comes in cute red and green packaging and looks just remotely festive. This shower gel is just one example. In comes in a set with a body lotion and a super delicious lip gloss which all have the same sweet smell. When I sniffed  the shower gel it immediately made me think of vanilla buttercream frosting. It was only when I went to have a shower that I realized that the bottle was still sealed, which should give you an idea of how intense the smell really is. I can highly recommend this to any Christmas cookie addict or anyone who has a major sweet tooth. The products come in a cute cookie tin that can be utilized to stash away things around the house. The gift pack is available at Boots but currently on offer at Debenhams!

Rimmel London Colour Rush Balms

These Rimmel Colour Rush Balms were a complete impulse purchase, which happen if Boots offers 3 for 2 on makeup. As I said, it’s dangerous territory. I’m usually quite comfortable just wearing a peachy lip balm {I love the Korres Lip Butters} but have always wanted to own a red lipstick for festive occasions. I don’t necessarily want to spend £25 on a lipstick if I’m not sure that I’ll get a lot of use out of it, so I chose to give the red lip a go using the Rimmel Colour Rush Balms. These crayons, which Rimmel classifies as a lip gloss, are extremely pigmented and the colors stays on your lips for a good while!

Hotel Chocolat Rocky Road Slab

If anyone working at Hotel Chocolat reads this they’re probably never going to let me into a store ever again, but I have a bit of a weekend ritual which involves their store. When I do my weekly shopping I always walk into the store and pick up a sample. I just casually walk around and acts as if I were looking for something specific and then the saleswoman always offers me a piece of chocolate. I’m sure they must know me by now, but choose to ignore the fact that I randomly show up at the store at least once a week. My favorite flavor is their Rocky Road Slab, a perfect combination of chocolate, cookies and puffed rice. Christina recently got me the 500g slab and their Advent Calendar for two, which means this December I will be eating 48 truffles…breaking the rules just a tiny bit! Slabs come in 500g for the pros and 100g for amateurs. By the way, the mini slabs would make a terrific stocking filler!

Mama’s delicious “Vanillekipferl

And last, but certainly not least is my very favorite thing I’ve been eating this month. If you follow me on instagram then you know that my amazing mom sent me a christmassy care package earlier this month full of treats and decorations. She even included home-made vanilla crescents, which are the most popular Christmas cookie in our family. I tried hard to not eat them all at once, but failed miserably! If you’re looking for a delicious Christmas cookie recipe, I can highly recommend these. They will not disappoint.

And that concludes this month’s favorites. I can’t wait for December to begin. I’ve prepared my advent calendar, am finalizing things for uni before I fly home and am ready to have a great holiday with my family!

Apart from the obvious, i.e. Christmas, what are you most looking forward to in December?

Any particular products/ food you’ve been loving lately?

Please also share note-worthy cookie recipes that I can try as soon as I fly home. Leave links or full recipes. Whatever you are willing to offer is greatly appreciated.
