weekly foodie finds {02.12.2012}

December 2, 2012

The countdown is ON! It’s December, our kitchen smells like chocolate and Christmas cookies and the first candle on our advent wreath is burning. Things are good. I’ve decided to go home this weekend to help my mom put the finishing touches on our Christmas cookies. Also, since I’ll be flying to Puerto Rico on Wednesday I probably won’t be home again until the 21st of December, unless of course I decide to come home in 2 weekends which I might, since this is where the Christmas cookies are being treasured.

On a different note, has anyone noticed the overload of anything christmassy on pinterest this week? I’m lovin’ it and have been getting lots of inspiration for home decorating {although our house is fully decorated already thanks to my dad}, cooking, baking and drinks. Today I’ll show you some of the holiday drinks I’ve pinned so far!

{Please note, none of the below pictures belong to me. I’ve linked back to the original source!}

From looking at this picture I would never assumed that this Salted Caramel Milkshake {seen on Spabettie} is vegan. With the ginormous dollop of whipped cream on top it looks perfectly indulgent for the holiday season and will without doubt wow any crowd. Kristina even has a homemade Bailey recipe on her blog which she used in this recipe!

Anything that Joy the Baker creates is bound to become a hit in the blogosphere. So it’s no surprise that this Toasted Marshmallow Milkshake has made the rounds on pinterest. Originally posted in 2010 I only discovered the recipe last week, but that’s just another great thing about pinterest.

Marina from Yummy Mummy Kitchen posted the recipe for this Peppermint Hot Chocolate last week. I can totally imagine my family sitting in front of the fireplace, sipping cups of this creation after a long winter walk.

And if you’re in need of something more boozy then these Cranberry Mojitos {seen on We Are Not Martha} could be just what you’re looking for. I’m sure these would be a hit served at any holiday party.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend and that it looks just as Christmassy where you are.
