I’m in London and it feels like I’ve never been gone! When I stepped off the plane it seemed like it had just been yesterday that I had walked the streets of London, yet it has been four months already. Spending time with Christina, strolling along New Bond Street and being surrounded by all the familiar places made me realize how much I miss England!
Christina has been the best sister {as she is always} and has spoiled me ever since I walked through the door. This treat was waiting for me! So happy I finally have my very own copy of Jenna’s book. Couldn’t wait to start reading it!
Christina had dinner all ready when I got to her place. She made a gigantic salad with lots of yummy toppings. As an appetizer we had pita bread with hummus.
For dessert Christina made Rose’s slutty brownies….cookie dough, oreos, brownie and butterscotch ice cream all in one bowl!!!
Double stuffed oreos were used. Take a look! Isn’t she pretty?
I spent the whole day yesterday with Christina. We started off with a short {5km} training run. It went quite well; we seem to be running the same pace {16 days til our half marathon…ahhh}! After our run we showered up and headed into the city center for a late breakfast at the most wonderful place in the universe…
Where else would I go?
We both ordered hot porridge {I was amazed at the gooey consistency…so different than when I make it at home}, shared a large fruit salad and side of multi-grain bread which we slathered with sufficient amounts of the oh-so-good speculoos spread! This spread tastes like Christmas in jar. Del-ic-ious!
In reality the speculoos spread deserves its own post but I’m not sure how interested you’d be in that….so let’s move on…
…OK, one last picture!
After lots of shopping {once again I spent way too much money} we had a rather late lunch at Whole Foods in Kensington. Another favorite place of mine. We shared a burrito filled with everything and popchips {never fried. never baked}. I also had a fresh juice {kale, carrot, apple and orange}, Christina had coconut water.
I bought LOTS of Luna and Cliff bars and a box of Bounce balls. Why yes, I need a whole box, 5 just simply won’t suffice! It was all on my shopping list so I don’t feel so bad about the purchase.
After tasting our way through all the sampling stations that could be found we headed home at around 4:45pm since we invited our brother, Alex, over for dinner. As always he seemed to be starving and immediately helped himself to whatever he found in the fridge so we brought out the appetizers straightaway. Once again hummus and pita was served. The star among the nibbles however was the Za’atar which we got at Whole Foods. We dunked in rosemary breadsticks for the ultimate herb experience. Perfection!
While we ate the appetizers Christina made dinner. She prepared Moroccan lamb meatball tagine along with couscous. It was incredible {thanks for cooking Christina!!!}. We basically inhaled the food in less 3 minutes but came to the conclusion that it just slides down easily. I shall post the recipe in the near future. {Warning! The picture below is in no way an honest representation of the deliciousness of the tagine, I just didn’t want to spend 10 minutes taking pictures when everyone else was already eating}.
Today I’ve been up before sunrise, have showered and am basically ready to head down to Vauxhall for FBC. I might make a stop along the way at Le Pain Quotidien just because the food is sooo good.
See you soon!

Your food looks amazing as usual hehe.
Sounds like you’re having a great time. Your sister seems like a great hostess.
I am DROOLING!!!
Also excited to see that Jenna’s written a book! She was one of my earliest inspirations to start photographing my food. =)
