This or That?

by Antonia on September 9, 2012

It’s about time that I jump on the This or That bandwagon! I’ve seen so many bloggers post their favorite questions and and the nosy and curious person that I am really enjoys reading about other people. I’m not sure who exactly started the This or That survey (maybe Paige or Ashley) but however did, thanks for kicking it off!

So here are a few of my favorite questions. If you have already taken part in this survey feel free to link up in the comment section so I can read your version as well. And of course, if you feel like it, answer some of the questions yourselves! I’d love to get to know you all a little better!

Run or Work Out in the Heat and Humidity or the Freezing Cold?

Definitely the freezing cold! I find it impossible to go for a run when the sun is burning down on me. Cycling or swimming is something else of course and can’t really be done when it’s freezing but when I’m running  I‘d rather it be a little bit on the cooler side than HOT!

Here in Munich I run along the river Isar which is great because most of the trail is in the shade and close to water!

Frozen Yogurt or Ice Cream?

This depends on the quality of the ice cream or frozen yoghurt. In England I ate frozen yoghurt all the time, simply because I couldn’t find good quality and tasty ice cream. Here in Munich however, we have all these great little gelato places that sell the most creative and best-tasting flavors.

The best combo however would be ice cream with the toppings that you get for frozen yoghurt {but that’s just my opinion}.

Protein Powder or Food with Protein?

Food with protein, for sure! I see a point in making a protein shake or protein smoothie but personally I think there’s certain foods that just don’t necessarily have to supplemented with protein powder. Adding protein powder to cookies or cake won’t make them any healthier and I sometimes feel that it gives the food a not-so-nice aftertaste.

Workout Attire: Cute or Comfy?

Ideally it should be both cute and comfy. But when I go shopping for workout gear I mostly consider the functionality of the product. I like my tops and t-shirts to be nice and long so I can move around without showing my bare belly. I also like bright colored workout attire.

Nike or Adidas?

Nike. I don’t think I even own a Adidas product.

Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s?

Whole Food’s. Although I am sure I’d love Trader Joe’s if I ever had a chance to go. Whenever I’m in London my sister and I spend several hours just walking through Whole Foods. It really is one of the most beautiful and exciting places to go, but that’s just a foodies opinion.

Summer or Winter Olympics?

I prefer the Winter Olympics a tiny bit more just because that’s the only time Austria wins something…we’re just more into winter sports I guess. Although I have to say I’m really impressed with how well we are doing in the Paralympics!

Thin crust pizza or deep dish pizza?

Thin crust with lots of toppings, preferable mozzarella and fresh vegetables.

Coffee or tea?

That’s a tough one….

...coffee too!

source

…but coffee is really good too!

I just LOVE coffee but I’ve really been making an effort to drink more tea. In the mornings I drink mango or strawberry flavored black tea but only because I don’t have a coffee machine right now. I left my Nespresso machine in storage in England since I didn’t want to take every single thing I own with me…but I sort of regret that decision already! I’m sure if I had a coffee machine I’d drink a lot more coffee than I do now. I didn’t like the coffee at work that much until I found the machine that makes good coffee so now  drink 1-2 cups of coffee per day. Maybe once the weather get’s cooler I’ll be more into drinking teas than coffee, or that’s what I tell myself. But for now and especially since I’m currently at Starbucks sipping on a grande iced latte I’d have to say that coffee would have to win this one!

Milk chocolate or dark chocolate?

I’ve been eating waaaaay to much chocolate lately just because there’s so much of it lying around in the office. I wouldn’t buy milk chocolate for myself, but when the pack’s open I just can’t resist. Generally though, I prefer good quality dark chocolate.

Almond butter or peanut butter?

Almond butter!!! Or cashew nut butter Smile

Mexican food or Italian food?

I have too little experience with Mexican food but I’m sure I’d love it. Italian food however is something I could eat every. single. day!

Now it’s your turn. Pick some questions and entertain me with your answers!

Have a great Sunday Smile

I’m sure I’ll love it. I even enjoy going to REWE and really, there’s nothing exciting about that if you’re a normal person :)

So you’re from Austria, studying in England, currently living in Germany?! That’s so cool! I’m from Holland myself and I took my internship in Wichita, KS, USA. I love the opportunity to get to know other countries and cultures :) I have a diploma in nutrition as well, and I’m currently doing a one year study on sports nutrition. Health & food is so interesting :) We don’t have Whole Foods nor Traded Joes here… such a bummer! I used to love shopping at Whole Foods during my stay in Wichita. I could spent hours in there like you :p Nice to meet you through the world of blogging! Love, Leanne

Hi Leanne!!! Nice to meet you too :)
Yes, it’s great to be living in different countries and experiencing different cultures, but I try to never live too far away from my family. Munich is only a 2 hour car ride away from home and both my older siblings live in London so there’s always someone close by.
It’s so cool that you’re studying sports nutrition. That’s definitely something I would be interested in and would enjoy myself.
Thanks so much for stopping by :)
