What a day I’ve had! I finally started my internship!
I woke up nice and early with way too much time to get ready, prepare and have breakfast and head to the train station to catch the train to work!
Breakfast of champions!
Bircher Müsli with blueberries and goji berries. Couldn’t have made a better and more filling breakfast! I know this looks like a bland and tasteless choice but it’s really one of my favorites!
I wasn’t overly nervous before work although there were definitely a couple of butterflies fluttering around in my stomach. I think it really helped that I visited the company back in April where I also got to know some of the people I’ll be working with. Speaking of which: everyone is really friendly and they made me feel very welcome from the moment I walked through the door.
Although my breakfast kept me full for a couple of hours by the time lunch rolled around I was more than ready to get some food into my system. I wasn’t sure about the eating arrangements at the company so I packed a lunch in the morning but since everyone else bought their lunch at the cafeteria I joined in and had gnocchi with mushrooms. Typically food served at cafeterias isn’t the best so I opted for a small portion to try the food first before stuffing my face with something that didn’t taste good at all (I sound like a food snob!) The food was alright, I really didn’t expect anything Michelin Star rewarded to be served, but had a bit of a stomach ache in the afternoon….which I do not blame the food for! Could have been caused by anything. We’ll see how tomorrow’s lunch goes!
Time to hop into the shower and reward myself with a good night’s sleep!
