Gooood morning and haaaappy Friday 🙂
I’m flying back to London later today so really I should be packing. Packing however is one of my least favorite things to do so I’m blogging instead 😉
Breakfast this morning was amazing. I made myself a colorful bowl of strawberry and blueberry oatmeal and added lots of berries and home-made granola on top. The best part: a spoon of my mom’s delicious strawberry jam that she made yesterday. Check out that beautiful color!
HUNGRY FOR CHANGE
I also wanted to share my thoughts on Hungry for Change, a documentary about the secrets the food industry does not want us to know. I know some of you might have already seen the film, but if you haven’t yet I can only recommend seeing it! It’s definitely one of the best films on healthy living and how the food industry manipulates us into buying certain products, e.g. diet cola, sugary snacks, etc.
If you’re the least bit interested in nutrition or health then this a movie for you. I watched the trailer a couple of times and then saw the first 20 minutes online. Since I am naturally very interested in nutrition and health I immediately ordered the DVD and when it arrived a couple of days ago I couldn’t wait to see it.
The movie focuses on the US food industry and the problem of obesity, diabetes, etc. in America but I feel that the information provided is relevant to every country because we all know that diet-related diseases are increasing almost exponentially throughout the world.
I especially love how the documentary focuses on healthy living because that’s really the key to success. Living a healthy life is all about eating, drinking and thinking right and people often think that food is the only factor that matters. The food we eat however does play a very crucial role. People nowadays are overfed but are still starving on a nutritional basis because the food they consume consists mainly of sugar and fat instead of eating real food like fresh fruits, fresh vegetables and greens and home-cooked meals. Instead people are addicted to highly processed products that no longer resemble real food at all!
I don’t want to give too much away because it’s such a great film and you should see it for yourself, but the documentary will give you details about why aspartame, MSG and sugar are bad. Most people know that they are bad for your health but hardly anyone can really say why! Also you will learn about how simple it is to live a healthier life.
Watch the trailer and let me know what you think!
