Dinner, London, My life, Restaurants

It’s Pimm’s O’Clock

May 22, 2012

Howdy, friends! How are you? I’m great 🙂 I slept until 8am this morning and it’s a Tuesday. Also I’m in London so this day will be good!

Yesterday however, was not so great. The journey to London was anything but smooth and relaxing. The train ride was fine but traveling on the tube in London with 3 gigantic suitcases/ bags was annoyingly painful!

Especially when on top of it being rush-hour there were major delays which meant that the tube was packed. Of course, I had to wait ages for a tube that had enough room for me and my 3 bags. Fraser was nice enough to pick me up from the tube station though. And when we got to the apartment  we had refreshment waiting for us 🙂

Christina knows how much I love Pimm’s so she prepared some for us to celebrate my exams being over. We all enjoyed it, some (Christina) more than others (Fraser) and by the time we had downed our drinks it was time for dinner.

I always get really spoiled by my sister and Fraser when I’m at their place and yesterday was no exception. They took me out to a great Mediterranean restaurant (Meze Meze) that had an amazing selection of choices. We started with the mixed Meze, which was a spread of different mezes (small dishes) and with pita bread.

As our main we decided to share a couple of things which I find it the best way to go since you can try lots of things and your not stuck with something that you don’t like. We had halloumi, a grill mix (both lamb and chicken) and falafel The lamb chops and falafel were my favorites!

Of course we didn’t leave without having dessert! Since we were all really full and quite tired already we decided to share something small. We chose the baklava which I had never had before. My sister told me that they were amazingly good and they really were. They’re basically filo pastry filled with chopped nuts and honey. Delicious!!!

After the walk home I was ready for bed. Traveling can be so exhausting. And I get to do it all over again when I go to the airport tomorrow…something to look forward to 😉

I’m off to enjoy the day in London! Don’t forget to enter my GIVEAWAY to win a waterbobble! See you tomorrow for WIAW!

[…] For dinner Christina made burgers, roasted veggies and home-made potato wedges which she seasoned with piri piri. Since the weather was so warm and sunny, dinner was accompanied by another glass of Pimm’s! […]
