Today I’ll post about the delicious Easter brunch my mom and I prepared. We had quite the spread on the table and munched our way through the morning and early afternoon. We did try to keep it healthy but we all know that Easter is about chocolate! As always a big thanks to Jenn for hosting the party.
Our table was full of both sweet and savory eats, but I naturally navigate towards the sweets so the meat wasn’t my main focus.
We had everything from meat (ham, salami, chicken wings), cheese, salmon, bread, bircher muesli to fruits, jams and of course cake!
I started off with a small bowl of bircher muesli and had seconds. This muesli is a family favorite and no matter how much we make, we never ever have leftovers! I also had fruit (mango and strawberries), my favorite breadroll (Kornspitz) and smoked salmon.
And because I still wasn’t full I built myself a cottage-cheese salmon sandwich with a side of grapes.
For dessert we sliced up the carrot cake (with hazelnut frosting). It was (and still is) delicious. Full of almonds and 1/2 kg of carrots. Yummy!
My brothers were hit by hunger about an hour after brunch so Mo decided to make crepes. He’s really been into the French treat lately and has been treating us to crepes filled with everything from nutella, jam, whipped cream and ham and cheese.
For dinner my mom made a super hot tomato-chilli soup. It was meant to be tomato soup with chilli but tasted more like chilli with tomatoes. It was delicious, nonetheless.
I spent most of the day hanging out with the family but managed to squeeze in a couple of minutes of studying, which made me feel very good about myself 😉
