My life, Travel

Bonjour.

March 24, 2012

Good morning!

While we are getting ready to explore the city I thought I’d share some pics from last night.

Our restaurant:

Last week when my sister asked me whether I’d be interested in having dinner at the Eiffel Tower I jumped at the idea. Yes, it may be a little more expensive than a regular 3-course meal at any other restaurant but still we felt it was a cool thing to do. We were lucky enough to get a table by the window where we could enjoy an amazing view of the city.

Initially I thought that we were going to be rushed through the meal as everyone had an allocated time when they had to be at the Tower. We booked out table for 9pm. We had to be there about 30 minutes before to purchase tickets for the lift and we didn’t know how long the lines would be. Luckily, people who had a reservation were given priority access since the queue was still pretty long.

Dinner was better than expected (I will probably post pictures in a separate post) and even though we weren’t technically rushed through the dinner you could tell that they didn’t want people to overstay their visit. We were out of the restaurant by about 11pm and since we were already half-way up the Eiffel Tower (not really, but we thought so!) we decided to walk up to the next level. Good thing, we didn’t actually have to line up to go 🙂

We walked up the staircase and felt that we had to be at the very top already and when we looked up and realized that we didn’t nearly walk as many stairs as we thought we did. It would have been amazing to go to the very top but all the staircases were closed.

The view was amazing even though it was a bit too dark to actually identify the various sights. But today is a beautiful day so we are ready to see the city by sunlight.

This is my sister’s first appearance on the blog so we had a 10-minute discussion about which picture I was allowed to post. The City of Light in the background.

Gotta go explore the city. Plus, I’m starving.  A bientôt!
