Fudgy Brownie…

March 12, 2012

I spend a large proportion of my weekend in the kitchen, cooking, baking and generally avoiding anything that has to do with studying or doing anything for Uni. I sometimes have a hard time concentrating while I study since my thoughts tend to drift off and all I can think about is different recipes I want to try out or create. It’s crazy, but at the moment my life really does revolve around food, which is good for you since I like sharing recipes with you all!

Yesterday I was in the mood for chocolate fudge brownies. And since I am a very determined person I made the most delicious brownies I’ve ever had. Now, you may think, what does an Austrian girl know about making a good brownie. Well, I don’t…but I know a good brownie when I taste one, and this my friends is the kind I’m talking about.

These brownies are moist and super fudgy and above all they are vegan (which still do not make them a health food, but I thought I’d point it out). My flatmates came into the kitchen while they were in the oven cause they had to find out where that heavenly chocolatey-smell came from. And as soon as the 30 minutes of baking time were up, we dug in. Ideally, I would have these with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream or with some raspberries or strawberries.

I tend to be one of those people that sometimes usually disregards serving sizes. I hate to admit it, but it’s true. When a package says 4 servings, I tend to think it will be enough for 2. Similarly when I eat cake I always go for the biggest piece (and there’s people out there like my sister’s boyfriend who can confirm that I sometimes eat waaaay to much). So, believe me when I say, start off by having a smaller piece of brownie and if you really like it (which you totally will) and there’s room left, then have seconds. I ate my brownie over several hours. They are quite rich and chocolatey, but soooooo good 😉

I can’t even describe how fudgy these were, so I hope this picture illustrates what I mean . . .

Try them out and let me know what you think!
