Back In Good (C)old England!

October 7, 2011

I am now back at Uni for another year full of nutrition excitement. It was freezing yesterday when I landed in London, contrary to what the weather was like back at home. When I got to my room I immediately turned on the heating…yet the night was still anything from warm and cozy.

So, I decided to make a nice bowl of oatmeal this morning to warm me up. I decided to add goji berries as well as bananas. I topped them with some nut-berry sprinkle…very yummy.

Usually when I make oatmeal I like to keep the ratio of oats to liquid (water or/and milk) 1:2. For one portion I usually use 1/2 cup of oats and 1 cup of liquid. I like mixing milk and water, but you can use just water or just milk. I like mixing in fruit or berries (e.g. banana, goji berries, raisins…) because they add natural sweetness , however it really is something that you can adjust to your taste. I also like adding cinnamon, vanilla and some brown sugar.

Hope you all have a good day!
